To Make Naan

Maida / All Purpose Flour – 2 Cups
Baking Soda – 1/2 Tsp
Baking Powder – 1 Tsp
Sugar – 2 Tsp
Salt – 1/2 Tsp
Ghee – 2 Tsp
Curd – 1 Tbsp
Hot Water
Chopped Garlic
Coriander Leaves
Sesame Seeds


1. To a large bowl, add maida, baking soda, baking powder, sugar and salt. Mix well.
2. Add ghee, curd and mix again.
3. Now gradually pour hot water and make the dough.
4. Knead it for 5 mins. Apply ghee all over, cover the doughball with a wet cloth and let it sit for about 1 hour.
5. Divide the dough into small and equal sized balls.
6. Dust the rolling surface and roll the dough ball evenly with medium thickness.
7. For one or two of the naans, sprinkle and few black sesame seeds on the top surface and just roll over slightly. This makes for Sesame Naan.
8. For a few more, sprinkle finely chopped garlic and coriander leaves on the top and gently press them in. They are for Garlic Naan.
9. Heat a tawa and place the prepared dough naan, roast on both sides and then put it on direct flame, keep flipping till it gets dark spots on both the sides.
10. Once it is cooked, apply butter all over.
11. Your piping hot, soft and yummy Butter Sesame Naan, Butter Garlic Naan and Plain Butter Naan are ready to be served.
