Are you looking for a quick and easy dinner recipe?
Besides Mr. Rooster burning the bread a little, This sandwich recipe was amazing. This would be a perfect back to school lunch idea, something yummy to put in your husband’s lunch box or even your own. We enjoyed this as a Dinner Recipe and even though I am not a fan of Spicy, I loved it. The cream cheese overpowers the spicy. You can add as many jalapeños as you would like.
* Ingredients *
Texas toast or Bread of Choice
4 medium jalapeño peppers
1 tablespoon olive oil
4 ounces of cream cheese
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1 cup of sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
6 strips bacon, cooked
Butter
* Instructions *
Preheat oven to 425°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Brush the jalapeños with the olive oil on all sides and place on the prepared baking sheet.
Roast for 10-15 minutes.To a medium mixing bowl, add cream cheese, garlic salt, pepper, and onion powder. Mix until creamy.
Chop Jalapeños and add to cream cheese mixture. Butter one side of one slice of bread. On the opposite side, spread half of the cream cheese mixture. Top the cream cheese mixture with bacon and cheddar cheese. Top with another slice of bread and butter the outside. Repeat these steps.
Add the buttered sandwich to a skillet and cook both sides over medium heat until the bread is toasted and the cheese is completely melted (4-5 minutes per side). Serve and Enjoy!
